Where Have We Been?
Well we have been completely underwater lately. Mama started classes these past two weeks. I am taking 6 online hours at IWU to renew my license. In addition I am taking 3 hours through IUB to finish my masters degree in curriculum and instruction. I would have just done one or the other but I didn't know at the time of enrollment if my IUB class would finish before July 30 which is when I have to have 6 hours completed or my master's in order to renew my license. Since I wanted to, you know, keep my job, I decided not to risk it and sign up for the online stuff just in case. So here I sit, swamped, and annoyed. BUT once I am done I will be just that, DONE! Wooo HOOO.
Meanwhile we are working on our backyard. Eric is super busy at work so the kids and I are keeping busy outside and in. We like to go over the the local little league and watch baseball and softball games as well. The parents think we're nuts, but who cares, Lucas LOVES it and it keeps us busy.
Here is Lucas looking for the bunnies that live in the back of our yard. He is wearing rain boots, jammie pants, and dinosaur shirt.
Lucas will be four on Monday. He wants a party with other little people but I just don't think we are up to it. We will probably do family gathering and keep it simple. I figure this may be the last year for a while that I can get away with it so I might as well.
He is really good at recognizing numbers and letters. He tries to read and loves to count. Julia has started dancing in her own little way. She loves to play by herself. She is such the opposite of him in so many ways. SHe is very independent. She self-weaned at 9 months, I had to force him MUCH later. She prefers to go to bed alone, still awakeish, and doesn't really want to be snuggled to sleep. I STILL snuggle him to sleep some nights. Julia is super talky, just like Lucas was. She is also very happy to just sit in your lap and watch what is going on around her. Lucas would sit in your lap for about 2.5 seconds at this age and then he was gone.
THis whole parenting thing is quite the adventure. I was up until 3am last night working on my homework and I get up for work at 6. I really should have had a second job all of those years I was sleeping like 9 hours a night. Who knew I could "function" on so little rest? I use the word function loosely here.

send the kids over here... we have swings in our back yard...I have a computer in the room overlooking the yard, so you can work and we can play!
yes please!
we go to the little league games, too- you're not the only one! you are amazing with all you do! phew- i get tired just reading it. i am glad you're getting your classes taken care of- after a lifetime of schooling, i am glad to be DONE, and i know you will feel that relief when you're done, too...it's so hard to be a mom and juggle other responsibilities- i so commend you for it (bow down to da woman!).
i am going to be indy in june- would LOVE to see you! let me know if you have some free time. (yea right, what's that?- haha!) :-)
love,
E
