Sick days for us are a little bit different than what you would imagine them to be. There isn't a lot of sitting around on the couch eating soup and watching movies. Lucas is what I would imagine a party with Keith Richards to be like when his asthma gets him. It is INSANE. Poor guy. It is very hard to be mad at him; but at the same time it is very intense and hard to deal with . The steriods make him nutso. The breathing treatments send him through the roof. That combined with the fact that he is pretty sure you are doing this to him on purpose (making him sick that is) makes for quite the hyper active cocktail. So this is what our sick days look like. We do treatments and then go out on the driveway to burn off the energy/insanity until it is time to do it all over again. He gets asthma whenever he has a virus.
It isn't athletically induced however it is mostl likely allergy related. Lucas was well all summer, just one cold, so of course upon the return to school.... We will be doing the nebulizer all year long as a preventative measure. As much as I dislike how it affects him, I am grateful that it may spare him from being constantly ill. I don't want him to suffer, and when he is sick he does suffer
...we all do a little. ;)

oh gosh- poor him, poor you!!! (((hugs))) i have been wondering if i have something similar to what lucas has, actually. i probably should look into a nebulizer- i did the steroids last year twice, but they didn't really work for me. if i cut out dairy, i would probably get a lot better...but...i am not ready! haha! devon's oldest daughter uses a nebulizer year-round, i think- and it REALLY helps!!!
