Spring!

These are all phone pictures. That is all I seem to do anymore. I have been altering them in Picasa to try and improve the quality and I think they look alright...for phone pictures. Right now I am sitting on the couch with Lucas while Julia rearranges our cd cabinet. It is early morning Saturday and I am in the midst of battling Shingles.

The virus started on Wednesday. I am hoping it doesn't get too bad since we got meds early. Hopefully it will keep things from getting out of hand. Eric is working all weekend and apparently there is some sort of substitute teacher shortage at work. My friends had to cover my classes yesterday. What on earth?

In spite of illness we ventured to the park yesterday. I stayed far away from all babies under 1 and the kids ran and ran and ran. It really was easier than trying to manage them at home. The park by our house is down in a fenced-in valley. I can see them from almost any angle and they can go wild. I even let them get in the sand and roll around. It was awesome. Lucas rode his bike allllllll the way there and back! He is very big these days. Five years old on the 17th of May.

Julia is all over the "grey ground" equipment. She climbs and slides and swings and runs. It is really very fun. I try to keep a hat on her at all times just to get her ready for summer. That red hair is going to require some coverage. She has the fair skin to match it for certain. Her eyes are auburn colored these days. It is very rare for redheads to have brown eyes. She seems to be the exception to every rule.

Lucas is in the background with the black glove. All she wants is to play too. She just loves T Ball. She shouts and screams for Lucas to "go go go Luccccy!" Lucas loves it too. Organized sports seem to be very good for him. He gets mad and throws fits but he does a great job and has a lot of fun.

i can't believe lucas is going to be 5 so soon!!!! time is going by so quickly...

evan and his sister both had bright red hair as children- and brown eyes! he explained it to me once...there is irish red which has blue/green eyes, and polish/russian redheads have brown/auburn eyes. not sure if it's true, but it was his explanation!
