Life or Something Like It

If you look really closely at the picture above you can see a bird cage hanging from a tree. There is this house in our neighborhood and they have a Cockatoo that they hang out in the front yard during the day. It is one of the many stops we have to make on our walks (Julia and I) around the neighborhood. We also have to see "white doggy", "sound doggy" (hound dog), "birdies, trees, ducks, and maybe chickens???" There is a house with chickens. They moved the coup away from the road so you can't seem them quite as well anymore which is disappointing.

She is so sweet and kind and helpful. Except when she's not. The ladies at her school speak constantly about how much she helps the younger children in her class. She is a lover. A real lover.

I got to go to Lucas's school this week and see them in action. It is a truly amazing place and I am so glad he ended up there. The way the whole Reggio system works is very inspiring. I hope he doesn't stress himself out too much. He gets that from me. I can see his wheels spinning when he is in class. My Dad took him shooting this weekend (above) so that helped I am sure. He also caught his first fish and shot a real bow and arrow. I know I should care more that he shot guns; but the fact of the matter is I don't. I could spend like MOST of my LIFE trying to get him away from the guns and arrows and shooting and kill kill killl boy crap that he likes....OR I could make sure he does the testosteroney crap he needs to do in a safe place. He is just ALL BOY about stuff like that. So what the hell. Embrace it.

He still begs for snuggles every night, so he can't be all bad.
